Outlook

Iowa lost three Stars, T.J. Hockenson, Noah Fant, and Amani Hooker, all of wich were top NFL draft picks, But returning a Senior QB in Nate Stanley, Behind a Experienced offensive line, and argueably the Big Ten's best pass rusher in DE A.J. Epenesa, Iowa looks to have another winning season. But with the schedule Iowa has exspecially on the road, The Hawkeyes will need other position groups to step up, where they return experience, just not star power.

Outlook

Can the Washington Huskies still compete in what many are calling a rebuild season, 4 year starters and many Husky career record holders, Jake Browning and Myles Gaskin are gone. The Huskies defense will also be returning just 2 starters across the board, the good news is they have a favorable schedule to complete another double digit win season.

Jacob Eason steps in at QB after sitting out the 2018 season, coming out of highschool Eason snubbed the home town school to play for the Georgia Bulldogs. Starting as a true freshman he had an up and down season for Georgia in 2017, The clear cut starter in 2018 after beating out Jake Fromm, Eason was injured for the season, while Fromm led Georgia to the Championship game. Local kid returns and takes over for the Huskies, Comes into the 2019 season with high hopes, and might be a massive upgrade over Jake Browning. Washington returns 4 out of 5 offensive lineman that will give Eason plenty of protection and time to deliver the ball to his recievers who also all return from the previous year, Look for Speedster Andre Baccellia, who had 12 receptions in the Rose Bowl against Ohio State, to become one of Eason's go to recievers.

Washington must replace significant players at every position group on the defense, gone are leading tackler Ben Burr-Kirvin, and massive run stoppers Danny Shelton and Vita Vea. Washington recruited well and may have enough players that they had stashed away to compete for a pac 12 title. Expect CB Elijah Molden to step up and have a break out season.

Key Losses

RB Trayveon Williams, TE Jace Sternberger, C Eric Mathews,

Toughest Games

@Clemson, Alabama, @Georgia.

Outlook

The #4 ranked recruiting class will help Texas A&M replace a defense that lost more then half of its starters, Jimbo Fisher's second season for the aggies looks to see improvement but will it be enough to compete for the SEC title or even a National Championship. Having one of the toughest schedules in college football heading into the 2019 college football season will not make that task an easy one.

Kellen Mond leads an A&M offense that will also return there entire two-deep roster at the wide reciever position, led by Quartney Davis, Highly recruited freshman tight end Baylor Cupp will make loosing both starters Jace Sternberger and Trevor Wood a little easier for the offense. Look for Kellen Mond to become more consistant in the passing game and Texas A&M's offense should be able to compete.

Texas A&M will have to find a way to salvage a stout run defense while improving a horrific pass defense while only returning one starter out of the front seven, that might proove to be difficult, highly rated recruiting at the LB position will help some and the only returning experience will be at the defensive back positions so look for there corner backs to step up in there pass defense.

12. Oregon Ducks

QB Justin Herbert, LB Troy Dye, NT Jordan Scott, S Jevon Holland, CB Thomas Graham, LT Penei Sewell, RT Calvin Throckmorton.

Key Additions

Toughest Games

Outlook

Many are predicting Oregon as a dark horse contender to compete for a college football playoff spot in Mario Cristobal's second season as head coach. The reason, Justin Herbert returning for his senior season after what many believe as him passing on being the first overall draft pick in the 2018 NFL draft, not only Herbert's return but Oregon actually returns 18 out of 22 starters from last season.

Returning 10 out of 11 starters on offense, none bigger then Herbert at QB, Oregon also returns arguably the best offensive line in the country. The only loss to the offensive side of the ball came when Dillon Mitchell opted for the NFL, even though Mitchell was Herberts go to guy, he will be replaced by a much bigger possibly more talented reciever in Juwan Johnson, a 6'4 230lb redzone threat of a reciever. If everything goes as planned Oregon's offense could become the offense we are accustomed to seeing at Oregon, and putting up numbers that will reach a top 10 offense in the FBS.

Oregon's defense is in almost as good shape as their offense, returning 8 out of 11 starters, the Ducks defense looks to improve with experience, Troy Dye, Oregons leading tackler for 3 consectutive years also passed on the NFL to return for his senior season, leading the way to what looks like a defense that could actually put up good numbers. They have tons of depth, adding the nations #1 overall Recruit according to rivals.com, Kayvon Thibodeaux became Oregons highest rated recruit in program history. The hope is high, and if Oregon's defense can possibly reach a top 30 overall defense, Oregon's chances are pretty high on having a remarkable season.

Outlook

Jim Harbaugh is earning the reputation of a couch that can not succeed at helping his team win on the bigger stage. As far as the Michigan Wolverines are concerned they are a top 5 team until they play against their nemises Ohio State, and then whomever they play in bowl games, leaving Harbaugh teetering on and off the hot seat. Could 2019 be the year that Michigan claims the Big Ten title? Many believe Ohio State is on down year and Michigan is primed to just do that, plenty of talent returns and the odds may be turning to their favor, even though it can not get much worse. Under Harbaugh, Michigan is 1-9 against top 10 teams, and 0-4 against Ohio State.

Shea Patterson returns for his senior season behind 4 out 5 offensive lineman with all big10 accolades, should give Patterson time to make the throws down field. Wide recievers, Tarik Black, and Donovan Peoples-Jones should make it difficult for defenses, making Michigans offense a tough match up for just about anyone.

The defense of Michigan will be the key, losing most of the players that made their defense what it was in 2018, Rashan Gary, Devin Bush, and David Long all left for the NFL, leaving Michigans defense with questions. Lavert Hill at corner back and Josh Metellus at safety will have to make up for an otherwise inexperienced secondary, 5* recruit Daxton Hill has enough talent to start at the other cornerback position, but freshman do need time to adjust. Michigans defense should improve as the season goes on. Luckily for the Wolverines, the first half of the season is pretty easy, Michigan should start the season 6-0, but out of the last 6 games, Michigan will face Penn State, Notre Dame, Michigan State, and Ohio State.

Outlook

Heading into Dan Mullen's second season and a top 10 recruiting class, Florida fans were hyped for contention in the 2019 season, after loosing key players from the 2019 class, Florida will look to build on there returning players.

Feleipe Franks wiil lead the offense after drastically improving thru the 2018 season, Florida will have to replace 4 starters on the offensive line, but have plenty of talent around Franks to succeed on the offensive side of the ball, as long as the young offensive line gets up to speed and gels as a unit.

The strong point of Florida's team a year ago was the defense, but loosing there best playmakers and the most production, Florida will need other players to step in, doesnt help that 5* recruit Chris Steele decided to leave the program, and Jeremiah Moon broke his foot during the spring.

Outlook

Texas won 10 games for the first time in years in 2018 riding the tremendous play of sophomore duel threat QB Sam Ehlinger. In 2019 Texas will look to replace many key parts of there team from a year ago, but have plenty of young underclassmen with plenty of talent, the key to there success is gaining experience and continuity of playing together.

The offense at Texas was one built to wear you down, led by Heisman Canidate QB, Sam Ehlinger, Texas looks to control the tempo of the game mixing runs with first down passes, if the Longhorns are able to create some big plays on the offensive side of the ball, (one of only three FBS schools not to have a play for 50 or more yards in the 2018 season) look for Texas to push Oklahoma for the Big 12 championship.

Texas will will have to replace 8 starters on the defense, though they are younger they will be more athletic, starting with the Big 12 freshman defensive player of the year, safety Caden Sterns, Texas also has B.J. Foster, Anthony Cook, and DeMarvion Overshown as there defensive backs, a group of young talented underclassman that will be looking to become leaders. After it is all said and done, Texas should have one of the better defenses in the Big 12 by the years end given the talent they have and the depth.

Outlook

Experience will be the key to the success that LSU will have heading into the 2019 season, the offense was sluggish at times and the defense folded at key moments, looking to improve falls on the shoulders of the returning veterans, and there are many coming back.

Joe Burrow returns at QB with a year of starting experience, his accuracy wasnt great by completing only 58% of his pass attempts, look for LSU to utilize a new passing scheme to fit the role of Burrow and expect more out of him this year, given his top 6 wide recievers are all back including Justin Jefferson, the 6-2 185-pounder, who caught two big touchdowns against UCF in LSU's bowl win. While Nick Brossette, LSU's leading rusher from a year ago is gone, he will be replaced by a reliable back in Clyde Edwards-Helaire, and superstar recruit, 5* John Emery who looks to be the next great lead back in LSU history.

LSU returns 8 starters on defense, loaded at every position, yes loosing Devin White at Lb, and Greedy Williams at CB are two key peices in what they were able to do for the team, but when you got a loaded defensive line, linebackers with experience and talent, and bring in a top 3 recruit in Derek Stingley Jr, an NFL talent as a freshman to replace Greedy Williams, LSU's defense will once again be there strength of this team.

Outlook

Notre Dame will be replacing NFL talent from all over the defense, Line backer position looks to be a weakness after having it as the No.1 strength over the last three years, Ian book returns but will need playmakers to step up on the offensive side of the ball if he looks to better himself from a year ago.

2019 Prediction

5. Oklahoma Sooners

Key Players Returning

WR Charleston Rambo, TE Grant Calcaterra, 10 of 11 defensive starters return.

Key Losses

QB Kyler Murray

Key Additions

QB Jalen Hurts, 5* Wr Theo Wease, 5* WR Jadon Haselwood

Toughest Games

@UCLA, @Texas, Iowa State

Outlook

Lincoln Riley will have Oklahoma in position to make it to its third straight college football playoffs, Bringing in defensive cordinator Alex Grinch should help to improve a playoff worst defense from a year ago.

Oklahoma's offense shouldn't miss a beat with Jalen Hurts replacing Kyler Murray, Hurts is 26-2 as a starter at Alabama, and has improved his throwing ability. Adding two prolific 5* wide recievers (No.1 overall WR Jadon Haselwood and the No.6 WR Theo Wease) to an already talented group and Oklahoma should be putting up plenty of points.

Oklahoma finished the season 102nd in yards allowed, the worst of any playoff team in history. Adding Alex Grinch, and returning ten of the 11 starters on that side of the ball, should have an imediate impact on fixing the gaps in the defense.

2019 Prediction

12-1.

4. Ohio State Buckeyes

Key Players Returning

RB J.K. Dobbins, WR K.J. Hill, DE Chase Young, S Jordan Fuller

Key Losses

QB Dwayne Haskins, DE Nick Bosa, DE Dre'Mont Jones, WR Parris Campbell, WR Johnnie Dixon, WR Terry McLaurin

Key Additions

QB Justin Fields, 5* DE Zach Harrison, 5* WR Garrett Wilson

Toughest Games

Michigan State, @northwestern, @Michigan

Outlook

Stepping down is Urban Meyer, being replaced by offensive cordinator Ryan Day, Plenty of tallent is on this team, but may start out slowly until the new faces can get in stride.

Having to replace record breaking QB Dwayne Haskins would have been a hard thing to do already, but replacing the top three wide recievers, and three out of five offensive lineman is going to make newcomer Justin Fields job harder in living up to his predecessor.

Ohio States defense looks to tighten up after allowing yardage to be racked up against them a year ago, having Chase young back will help with the pass rush, but they need to secure the interior defense to stop the run better.

2019 Prediction

11-2

3. Georgia Bulldogs

Key Players Returning

QB Jake Fromm, RB D'Andre Swift.

Key Losses

DE Jonathan Ledbetter, CB DeAndre Baker, WR Mecole Hardman, WR Riley Ridley, TE Isaac Nauta, RB Elijah Holyfield, LB D'Andre Walker, WR Jeremiah Holloman (recently dismissed from the team.)

Key Additions

5* DE Nolan Smith, 5* LB Nakobe Dean, 5* DT Travon Walker, 5* WR George Pickens, 5* C Clay Webb No.1 JUCO DE Jermaine Johnson

Toughest Games

Notre Dame, @Florida, @Auburn

Outlook

The 2018 Georgia Bulldog team was probably the worst team we will see from Georgia in the next 5 years at least, Great recruiting classes, with the 2019 recruiting class containing more 5* prospects than any other team.

Jake Fromm is back to lead the way in Georgia's offense, While RB D'Andre Swift will most likely be a Doak Walker Award finalist, Losing your top three recievers in Mecole Hardman, Riley Ridley, and TE Isaac Nauta, georgia will have to look for help from California transfer Demetris Robertson, and freshman 5* WR George Pickens, to fill the void.Georgia will also have one of the best offensive lines in college football.

Losing Jonathan Ledbetter to the NFL hurts, but replacing him with 247 No.1 overall recruit Nolan Smith will not hurt Georgia's defense at all, Their Depth at defensive back is solid and Georgia should post one of the SEC's best defenses.

2019 Prediction

12-1

2. Alabama Crimsontide

Key Players Returning

QB Tua Tagovailoa, WR Jerry Jeudy, RB Najee Harris, DE Raekwon Davis, LB Dylan Moses.

Key Losses

DL Quinnen Williams, DL Isaiah Buggs, RB Damien Harris, RB Josh Jacobs.

Key Additions

5* DE Antonio Alfano, 5* RB Trey Sanders, 5* OT Evan Neal

Toughest Games

@Texas A&M, LSU, @Auburn.

Outlook

After a complete dismantling after the poor performance in the National Championship game, A 44-16 Clemson Victory over the Alabama Crimson Tide, Nick Saban has been talking about returning Alabama to the top and not just the second best team. Nine new coaches along the coaching staff, looks to improve there style of play.

Alabama's Offense returns a majority of players only really loosing depth at the running back spot. Tua Tagovailoa, the Heisman runner-up returns at Quarterback, along with his number one target in Jerry Jeudy. Najee Harris looks to fill the void at running back.

On defense the Crimson Tide will look for answers to replace most of there front seven, Db's look to be the only position group that is returning most starters. Alabama recruits well and has plenty of talent to plug and play on defense, but the biggest concern is the depth at the much needed positions.

2019 Prediction

12-1

1. Clemson Tigers

Key Players Returning

QB Trevor Lawrence, RB Travis Etienne, WR Justyn Ross.

Key Losses

DE Austin Bryant, DE Clelin Ferrell, DL Christian Wilkins, DL Dexter Lawrence, WR Hunter Renfrow, LB Kendall Joseph, CB Trayvon Mullen, OT Mitch Hyatt.

Key Additions

5* DE K.J. Henry, 5*WR Frank Ladson, 5*WR Joe Ngata

Toughest Games

Texas A&M.

Outlook

Although the defending national champion Clemson Tigers lost there whole starting defensive line in addition to other key players, Being in the ACC has them with arguably the easiest schedules to return to the college football playoffs for a fifth consectutive time with a chance to when two out of there last three attepts.

Clemson's Offense Returns almost every playmaker from a year ago, and looks to be the most prolific offense in the nation. Adding two 5 star recruits at wide reciever and returning important depth at the offesive line positions makes the Tiger's offense one of the hardest offenses to stop, and gives Trevor Lawrence all the time he needs to get the ball into his playmakers hands.

On defense the Tigers have plenty of talent to replace what they have lost from last year, it was important that the underclassman recieved much needed playing time in Clemson's 15-0 season, the biggest return on the defense that will have Clemson's defense playing at a high level is defensive coordinator Brent Venables.
